Geotechnics
In order to establish a methodology for the analysis of this type of foundation, several F.E. models has been conducted to simulate the conditions and behavior in the short and long-term of the foundation.
Significantly, the formulation used for F.E. analysis is based on the utilization of data obtained from geotechnical field and laboratory tests on samples taken in situ that characterize the soil.
The stress distribution in the soil is not defined sufficiently by empirical methods, and it could have a critical effect in the collapse load of the pile.
Deformation effects of consolidation are directly related to the diffusion of the increment of neutral pressure due to the overload transmitted by the pile, so knowing the value and location of these excess pore pressure is essential for determining the displacements.
Some relevant data regarding the modeling and analysis:
Quadratic solid elements type Pore Fluid/Stress C3D20RP for ground and quadratic S8R surface elements to the shaft.
Pore-elastic-plastic material nonlinear kinematic hardening and definition of permeability.
Initial saturation conditions, void ratio in the ground and internal pressures.
Geostatic calculation with geometric nonlinearity and coupled analysis type "Soils".
Frictional contact with the adhesion value obtained from analytical methods.
